Näder Lab: Assessment and Monitoring of Neuromotor Function through Advanced Dynamic Pose Estimation
We will use videos of people with Parkinson's disease (PD) doing different things to develop sophisticated computer programs that can detect specific movement patterns that are only seen in people with PD. We will then see how well our computer programs can diagnose early PD, compared with medical and clinical professionals.

Use of a Micro-Processor Controlled Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthosis Compared to Traditional Rehabilitation in Spinal Cord Injury
The study will evaluate the potential of the C-Brace from Ottobock to improve the functional mobility and quality of life in individuals with lower extremity impairments due to spinal cord injury when compared to traditional rehabilitation methods.

AbilityLab Receives Center Grant to Test Effectiveness of Home and Community Services
A new center grant recently was awarded to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to create a system to evaluate home and community-based services. The grant — with funding of $4.4 million over five years — started on Sep. 1 and is through the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
