Paying Your Bill Online
Body
You will receive a single, consolidated patient statement by mail (or electronically, if you opt for paperless billing) that includes both physician and hospital fees. As new services are completed, they will be added to this statement — allowing you to see all pending charges in one place.
Patient Account Numbers: To log into our online billing system, you will need your Shirley Ryan AbilityLab patient account number. You will find this 12-digit number on the first page in the account summary portion of your consolidated statement. Please call Patient Financial Services at (312) 238-6039 if you need assistance finding your patient account number.
Our online payment system offers many benefits, including:
- Security & ease of use: You can pay your bills electronically in our secure system.
- Consolidated patient statement: The consolidated patient statement allows you to see both physician and hospital fees in one place, making it easier to see the total amount owed.
- Payment plan options: You may establish a payment plan to pay your bill over time or set up automatic monthly deductions. At a glance, you will be able to see what you have paid to date, as well as your outstanding balance.
- Ability to view past services: You can view more details about your current and past services — and all related charges and payments.
- Paperless billing: By default, you will receive statements in the mail via the U.S. Postal Service. However, you may opt for paperless billing, in which case you will receive notification of your statements via text or email, and you can set up electronic reminders to track your payment plans and/or prompt you when bills are due.
Important Information about Your Bill
Body
Our billing is structured according to the guidelines and regulations set at the federal level by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These guidelines dictate that patients who are seen by a physician will be required to pay two fees:
- One for the physician professional services (which includes doctor appointments)
- One for the facility (which includes clinical staff, equipment, supplies, etc.)
You will receive a single, consolidated patient statement that includes both fees.
Please note, your bill only reflects services rendered at our facilities and by our affiliated providers. If you receive care at a non-facility location or from physicians who are not employed by us, you may receive separate bills from those organizations.
Payment is due upon receipt of your consolidated patient statement. If needed, and in order to prevent the collection process from commencing, an alternative payment arrangement may be made. Itemized bills are available upon request.
