About Me
Preya Sharma Tarsney, JD, HEC-C, is the Director of the Donnelley Ethics Program. She is an Assistant Professor in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Faculty Lecturer at the University of Chicago, MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. Preya received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. (with Honors) in Bioethics and Political Science from the University of Michigan. She later completed her clinical ethics fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago.
Preya’s interests in bioethics include informed refusals, assent, negotiation and mediation in rehabilitation and clinical ethics, and best practices in ethics consultation. She is a clinical and research ethics consultant and has been involved in multiple clinical ethics teaching endeavors, including simulations and courses. Preya has been coordinating the Schwartz Center Rounds® at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab since 2012.
