About Me

With more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare arena, Jonathan Tingstad’s leadership in finance and operations is both diverse and accomplished.

Since his arrival in late 2017, Jonathan has directed and overseen all financial activities, payor contracting, materials management and information technology for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. He has led the Finance team in crafting the organization’s long-range financial plan. In 2019, Fitch Ratings reaffirmed the hospital’s “A-” credit rating. Additionally, he has recruited new leadership to oversee some of the key areas within his purview, including Information Technology, Corporate Finance and Patient Financial Services.

Prior to joining Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Jonathan served as SVP and CFO at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), where his responsibilities included all financial functions, with direct reporting to the board’s Finance, Audit and Investment committee. He also oversaw all payor contracting, infrastructure, property and lease functions. His scope of responsibility included purchasing and materials management; facilities; information technology; employee benefits; and patient access.

Previously, Jonathan served as VP and CFO at Medalia HealthCare, LLC. He began his career at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in Chicago and then moved to the accounting firm KPMG, where he spent four years as a Supervising Senior Accountant/Auditor.

Jonathan graduated, cum laude, from the University of Washington in Seattle, with a BA in Business Administration, Accounting. He also holds an MBA from the University of Washington and has completed an executive education course, Strategy for Health Care Delivery, at Harvard Business School. He is a certified public accountant.
