About Me
As Vice President, Strategic Alliances, John Dunkin, PT, oversees day-to-day operations for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab’s strategic alliances with academic and community hospitals and systems — encompassing more than 250 beds and multiple outpatient and medical-surgical therapy programs in Chicagoland and around the United States. In this capacity, he applies best practices in care delivery in pursuit of the best outcomes for nearly 4,000 patients annually.
John has served Shirley Ryan AbilityLab since 2006. Prior to becoming Vice President, he managed the organization’s alliances with both Ascension and AdventHealth, overseeing everything from strategic growth and financial analysis to program operations, quality and compliance. He began his career with Tenet Healthcare, a multinational healthcare services company.
A Physical Therapist by training, John received his Master of Physical Therapy, Health Care Administration and Management from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Prior, he received his Bachelor of Science from SUNY Buffalo State University in New York.
