About Me
Candi Ladd joined the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab team in 2009 as a physical therapist at the Arlington Heights DayRehab Center®. In this role, she further honed her skills in working with patients who have survived stroke and traumatic brain injury. In 2013, to deepen her knowledge in the field of rehabilitation, she pursued board certification, specializing in neurology, from the American Physical Therapy Association. In 2016, Candi worked with hospital leaders to open a DayRehab® site in River Forest (now Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Burr Ridge Outpatient & DayRehab Center®), where she provided therapy services for one year before joining the Admissions Team.
As an Admission Liaison, Candi enjoys the relationships she forms with patients and families, as well as the ability to bring comfort by helping them connect with the best possible care. Engaging the patients and families, early on, while the patient is still in acute care, provides them with much-needed support and guidance during a trying time. Her role has deepened both her medical knowledge and her ability to understand patient and family concerns and needs from their perspective. She prides herself on her ability to educate and bring hope, and she enjoys participating in the acute-care hospital team's decision-making process when it is preparing potential patients for rehabilitation.
Candi was born and raised in Chicago, where she continues to reside with her husband and sons.
