Translational Cancer Rehabilitation Lab
Our lab studies the physiologic mechanisms that lead to change in physical or cognitive function for patients with cancer. In particular, we are currently focused on cachexia syndrome, a muscle wasting disorder that affects a majority of patients with cancer, along with many other chronic disease.

Addison Barber received her BS in Biopsychology from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2023. Previously, she studied the behavioral and neural mechanisms that guide associative learning and decision-making. Addison joined Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in August of 2023 and her current work focuses on the anatomical and physiological variability and changes that occur in cancer associated cachexia.
