Allen Heinemann, PhD, Arun Jayaraman, PT, PhD, along with other model system members co-authored the article Experience of Robotic Exoskeleton Use at Four Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems Centers, which was published in the Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy (JNPT). This article describes clinicians' experiences, evaluations, and training strategies using robotic exoskeletons in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and wellness settings and describe clinicians' perceptions of exoskeleton benefits and risks and developments that would enhance utility. This paper is a result of focus groups that took place as part of the research project, Using a Health Technology Assessment Framework for Evaluating the Utilization and Efficiency of Wearable Exoskeleton for SCI Rehabilitation.
