Our laboratory is proud to collaborate with Dr. Monica Perez and her Team on a clinical study focused on spinal cord injury (SCI) within the Spinal Cord Injury Model System. This collaborative effort spans five hospitals nationwide, including the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (Lead site), Craig Hospital, Baylor Scott and White Health, University of Minnesota, Allina Health, and the Mayo Clinic. Our role in this study involves providing support for blood processing and conducting analyses on circulating Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and genetic polymorphisms. We aim to investigate the relationship between BDNF and spasticity severity in individuals with motor complete SCI.
