Join us every third Thursday of the month to get together and have meaningful discussions with other stroke survivors.
Each meeting will feature a guest speaker who will touch upon different topics related to stroke and stroke recovery.
This month’s guest speaker will be Cassie Powers, OTR/L, Senior Occupational Therapist who is currently working as an inpatient pain management therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. She obtained her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Midwestern University in 2018 and has since focused her clinical practice in both adult and pediatric neurorehabilitation in inpatient and outpatient settings. Cassie’s strong clinical areas include: addressing the biopsychosocial nature of health and collaborating with individuals to identify and learn how to incorporate self-management strategies into their daily routines. When she is not working, she tries to walk the walk and integrate meaningful activities into her everyday routine. Some of her favorites include running, hiking, listening to live music, painting and spending time with family/friends. The topic for this week’s discussion will be Pain Management.
