About Me
About Me
Derrick is a senior physical therapist who has been helping patients reach their goals at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab since 2017. He enjoys treating patients of all ages and diagnoses and has obtained additional certification to perform functional capacity evaluations, to assist patients after injury, in returning to work. He treats in a patient-centered approach, where a plan of care is developed around the goals of the patient and figuring out what it is they want to achieve. He believes that forming a meaningful connection with the patient and establishing relationships is the key to any successful treatment plan. Derrick is looking forward to working with patients who take active approaches in their care, and are ready to participate in a home exercise program to maximize the benefit one can get from physical therapy.
