At the June 20 Institute of Medicine of Chicago’s (IOMC) Annual Leadership Awards and Annual Convening, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab's Richard Lieber, PhD, chief scientific officer and senior vice president, Research, was honored with the IOMC Outstanding Leadership & Compassion Award in Healthcare.
This award emphasizes the importance of humanitarianism — in addition to science and technology — in advancing medicine and medical education.
Dr. Lieber was nominated by an IOMC board member and recognized for his leadership and commitment to advancing patient outcomes through scientific discovery.
“It was fun to connect with the IOMC as we are all interested in making Chicago a better place,” said Dr. Lieber. “There was an energy and optimism that I have rarely felt, and I was so proud that Shirley Ryan AbilityLab was featured!”
