It started on Monday with Unit Day (in which units organized their own celebrations). The celebration continued all week long with treats, cooking demonstrations, meditation classes ... and awards presentations!

On Friday was the party in honor of Florence Nightingale (the English social reformer, statistician and founder of modern professional nursing), complete with games, a raffle, informational booths, and a chocolate fountain!
Nancye B. Holt Legacy of Nursing Award

One of the annual highlights of National Nurses Week is the announcement of nominees and the winner of the Nancye B. Holt Legacy of Nursing Award, which recognizes a nurse or advanced practice nurse who demonstrates our mission, philosophy and commitment to excellence in patient care.
The winner of this year’s Nancye B. Holt Legacy of Nursing Award is Nancy Kasprzyk of the Nursing Flex Staff!
“She is truly a role model, mentor and ambassador for nursing, the Flex Staff department, and the organization,” wrote the anonymous colleague who nominated Nancy. “Nancy does it all. And perhaps, most noteworthy, she does it all for patients she has never met before and will never meet again. This is the role of the Flex Staff nurse, and Nancy does it beyond expectations each and every day.”
