DESCRIPTION
Freezing of gait (FOG) of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a complex phenomenon whose pathophysiology remains unknown. It is a common cause of falls, dependence and poor quality of life. This webinar will cover an overview of the FOG, assessment and rehabilitation treatment. We will explore how FOG can be triggered by turning, cognitive and emotional situations and environments. Pharmacological and surgical therapies can help to manage FOG but are limited over time. Rehabilitation strategies are therefore advocated as important adjunct therapies.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Define the types of Freezing of Gait (FOG)
  2. Describe objectives measures and different rehabilitation approaches for FOG
  3. Apply complex and sensorimotor exercises in rehabilitation protocols for FOG

Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and assessment in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
