
Diagnosis & Treatment of Functional Movement Disorders (FMD)

DESCRIPTION
Functional movement disorders (FMD) are common, yet patients often experience delays in diagnosis and poor access to treatment. Multidisciplinary treatment programs, integrating physical, occupational and speech therapy with a cognitive behavioral therapy based approach have shown promise in recent years. This course will review current diagnostic criteria for FMD, communication with patients and multidisciplinary treatment strategies. The activity is designed to provide practical tools, helping patients achieve optimal quality of life.

- Apply motor retraining strategies for treatment of functional movement disorders
