DESCRIPTION
Following traumatic brain injury (TBI), as many as 70% of survivors will experience behavioral changes that impact their ability to interact in socially appropriate manners and participate in therapeutic interventions that are necessary to optimize recovery. This webinar will empower the clinician with a variety of strategies to approach behavior management when it interferes with participation in therapy. Clinicians will use documentation and outcome measures to assist in objective tracking of behavior as it relates to progress in therapy. Case study application will allow the clinician to apply principles and problem solve real life case examples to improve application to
clinical practice.
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize specific behaviors and clinical implications of behaviors that occur following traumatic brain injury
- Utilize evidence-based techniques to manage behaviors during therapeutic intervention to optimize participation and functional outcomes
- Identify environmental modifications to reduce the incidence of behaviors
- Select outcome measures and specific documentation to track
behavioral manifestations
