DESCRIPTION
This webinar will cover the current state of ACL injury management and the role of shared decision-making throughout the rehabilitation process. Shared decision-making is commonly used in return to sports decision after ACL reconstruction; however, this model also applies to acute ACL injury, including treatment pathways and the decision for operative vs. non-operative management. Discussion will include how to share the best available evidence and work together to support your patients/athletes in considering their treatment options after ACL injury.
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define shared decision-making and identify strategies to implement it within the context of acute ACL injuries
- Understand how to integrate the current evidence in the management of ACL injuries in order to counsel their athletes to determine the best treatment option
- Apply current research evidence and shared decision-making to a patient within an ACL case study
