Intermittent Hypoxia Workshop 2024

10/05/2024

Description: The Workshop will highlight laboratories focused on low-dose intermittent hypoxia, exploring its physiological effects and therapeutic possibilities, with a primary focus on neuroplasticity.

Talks will be presented suggesting intermittent hypoxia efficacy in spinal cord injury (arms, legs/walking and breathing), as well as in multiple sclerosis and stroke. Topics will range from basic science (cellular/network mechanisms) and translational studies in animal models or humans, to funded clinical trials.

Participants will discuss the therapeutic potential of intermittent hypoxia to enhance traditional rehabilitation in diverse motor (walking, hand/arm, swallowing, breathing), sensory, autonomic and cognitive neural systems.
